Abstract: The aim of this research is to analyze economic growth in the Global South. It is stated that the variables chosen to explain the economic growth of the countries of the Global South, foreign direct investment (FDI), trade openness, and institutions, have had, individually and as a whole, a positive and statistically significant effect on the period from 2006 to 2019. Additionally, there has been a synergy and interdependence between the economic growth of the Global South, generating favorable international framework conditions to achieve the dual objective of these countries, development, and autonomy.
