This work presents a review of a considerable part of the literature dealing with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), in particular their presence in environmental compartments (Water, Air and Soil), as ubiquitous pollutants and posing a serious threatening risk at the same time of environment (global warming) and human health (carcinogenic compound). This memory deals with the different techniques for sampling, extraction and analysis of volatile organic compounds. Particular attention has been paid to BTEXs, where their toxic potential has been highlighted and diagnostic ratios between different compounds of this family have been established |
