Psychological distress under Corona Pandemic

Abstract

The current study aims to define the level of psychological distress impact of the Corona pandemic in Algerian society, and to identify the differences between women and men and the different age, educational levels and civil status in the degree of psychological distress. To achieve the objective of the study we choose Kessler psychological distress scale (K10) to collect information. After checking the validity of the tool we conducted the study on a sample of 225 , The scale was distributed electronically via social media. The descriptive approach was based on both SPSS version 22 and AMOS version 23 program for statistical analysis of data. The results of the study reached the prevalence of distress among a sample of Algerian society and there are differences between females and males in distress, and there are differences between marital status and there were no differences in psychological distress between different ages and educational levels تهدف الدراسة الحالية الى معرفة مستوى الشدة النفسية في ظل جائحة كورونا على عينة من المجتمع الجزائري والتعرف على الفروق بين النساء والرجال و مختلف الفئات العمرية والتعليمية والاجتماعية في درجة الشدة النفسية . لتحقيق هدف الدراسة اعتمدنا على مقياس كيسلر للشدة النفسية(K10) لجمع المعلومات. وبعد التحقق من صلاحية الأداة على عينة استطلاعية باستخدام مقاييس الصدق والثبات قمنا باجراء الدراسة على عينة تبلغ مقدراها 225.تم الاعتماد على المنهج الوصفي وعلى كل من برنامج SPSS الاصدار 22 وبرنامج AMOS الاصدار 23 للتحليل الاحصائي للبيانات . توصلت نتائج الدراسة الى انتشار الشدة النفسية لدى عينة من المجتمع الجزائري بسبب الحجر الناتج عن جائحة كورونا ،حيث اظهرت انه هناك فروق بين الاناث والذكور في درجة الشدة النفسية لصالح الاناث وهناك فروق بين مختلف الحالات الاجتماعية لصالح العزاب ولم يكن هناك فروق في الشدة النفسية بين مختلف الاعمار والمستويات التعليمية
