Abstract: The aim of this paper is to try to attempt to measure and estimate the determinants affecting air pollution within the framework of the Kuznets environmental curve in Algeria, both in the short and long term, by conducting a standard study during the period 1980-2019, The ARDL self-regression methodology was used to verify this study using variable CO2 as a dependent variable and explanatory variables represented in real GDP and energy use. The study, based on the study variables, found that the model of determinants of air pollution in Algeria corresponds to the assumptions of the environmental Kuznets curve in the short and long term, which indicates that the economy is exposed to environmental degradation in the first stages of economic growth and then the quality of the environment improves after a later period of growth.
