Abstract: The aim of this research is to reveal the nature of Automatic Thoughts for young people and its relationship with attempting suicide, under the light of the Cognitive Behavioural Theory, by questioning: What is the extent of the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the detection of automatic thoughts among young people who attempted commit suicide? On the assumption that automatic thoughts lead to suicide attempt. Also, automatic thoughts among young people, who tried to commit suicide have the nature of a major depressive disorder. The findings revealed through the application of the measure of Young's cognitive schemes and Beck's Depression Inventory show that suicide attempt is completely linked to the automatic thoughts that appeared clearly through the negative early cognitive scheme on the case, which on the basis of, interpret the situations that pass and therefore controls the emotions and the results of these emotions. We also found out that the automatic thoughts at those who attempt to commit suicide have depressive character based on the result of the depression scale that was applied to the case.).
