dc.description.abstractMild steel is an important metal in industrial applications, particularly in petroleum, but it can be easily oxidized by air, and chloride ions significantly promote the corrosion process in aqueous solution, such as seawater, medium acid, etc. One of the most important methods in to corrosion protection of metals is the use to organise inhibitors to protect the metal surface form the corrosion environment. A macrocyclic compound, namely iodide nonahydro -4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13-Cyclodoca- 1,2-Dithiothiole-3-thione (INCDT)was synthesized and it‟s inhibiting action on the corrosion of wild steel in 10% HCl at ambient temperature. The aim of the present work is to investigate the efficiency of INCDT as corrosion inhibitor of mild steel in 10% by hydrochloric, in order to study the influence of three sulfur in the molecule. Thus, the effect of concentration, the inhibitor on inhabitation properties was studied; the mode of adsorption and the corrosion inhibition mechanism on steel in acid; solutions are also discusseden_US
