Abstract: The aim of this study is to measurment of the relative efficiency of insurance companies active in the Algerian market, including insurance for persons and insurance for damages during 2017. The sample study consists of 20 insurance companies active in the Algerian insurance market, of which 12 are persons insurance companies and 8 are damage insurance companies. The model applied was the data envelopment analysis input-oriented with two models (CRS and VRS) has been used to measure the efficiency of these companies. The results showed that 40% of the studied sample was efficient while the rest of the companies were inefficient. Keywords: data envelopment analysis, insurance companies, Efficiency.
