The aim of this study was to evaluate the anticoagulantactivity of Curcuma longa shoots extracts, used in folk medicine. The ground material was subjected to extraction and fractionation to have 3 extracts: methanolic, éthanolic and aqueous. The phytochemical screening tests carried out on the two species studied gave a general idea of the secondary metabolism they continents, and revealed a variation between these two species. The quantitative colorimetric estimation of the total polyphenols attributed to the various biological activities; has shown that showed the extracts (methanol and aqueous) are rich in these compounds, but in different amounts (0,592 and 0,073 mgEAG / g) respectively. The anticoagulant activity; was also evaluated in vitro by using two tests: the test of the cephalin-kaolin time and the test of Quick time. The times of coagulation obtained on normal plasma in the presence of these polyphenols indicate that they carry an anticoagulant activity on the two pathways of coagulation but this activity is highly marked on the endogenous pathway than on the exogenous pathway.en_US
