Annotated Translation of the chapter: ” The Sharif of Warqala's Jihad, 1850-1866” from Rebel and Saint by Julia A_ Clancy Smith

Abstract

This research is an Annotated Translation ، The object of the study is the sixth chapter of an English book “ REBEL AND SAINT “ by Julia A Clancy Smith which is “THE SHARIF OF WARGALA'S JIHAD “ ,The study aims at suggesting solutions for the problems that face the translator in historical books specially English books that treat Arabian history , The annotated translation would help in allowing the readers to experience the more complex truth ،Added to that fact finding the history of Wargala during the French colonialism and the effect of the Muslim Notables and populist prohistory ,The parts of the study are firstly translating of the whole chapter secondly commenting on the problems at lexical and semantic level and proper nouns

Cette recherche est une traduction annotée ، L'objet de l'étude est le sixième chapitre d'un livre anglais " REBEL AND SAINT " de Julia A Clancy Smith qui est " THE SHARIF OF WARGALA'S JIHAD " , L'étude vise à suggérer des solutions aux problèmes qui facent aux traducteurx dans les livres historiques, en particulier les livres en anglais qui traitent de l'histoire Arabe, la traduction annotée aiderait à permettre aux lecteurs de faire l'expérience de la vérité plus complexe. Ajouté à ce fait, trouver l'histoire de Wargala pendant le colonialisme français et l'effet des notables musulmans et prohistoire populiste, les parties de l'étude traduisent d'une part l'ensemble du chapitre, d'autre part commentent les problèmes au niveau lexical et sémantique et les noms propres.

الدراسة عبارة عن ترجمة و تعليق للفصل السادس من كتاب "rebel and saint " لجوليا كلانسي سميث "شريف ثورة ورقلة" تهدف هاته الدراسة إلى اقتراح حلول للمشاكل التي تواجه المترجمين في الكتب التاريخية خاصة تلك التي تعالج التاريخ العربي كما تسمح للقراء بنفض الغبار عن تاريخ ورقلة خلال حقبة الاستعمار الفرنسي و تأثير علماء الدين والمناهضين للاستعمار تقسم الدراسة أولا لترجمة الفصل برمته و ثانيا دراسة المشكلات على المستوى اللفظي والدلالي وكذلك أسماء الاعلام .
