Abstract: This research deals with the political role of media in the political socialization of young people in society. The political socialization is considered one of the most important social and political processes which seek to build individuals in general and the young in particular, socially and politically. It provides the young people with a combination of knowledge, beliefs, principles and political values to become important and active members in the community. Political media is one of the most important sources of political socialization of young people. The political media is not limited to its social role in broadcasting news and describing facts only, but also to other roles like explanation, analysis and guidance about important issues in the community. In addition, it raises young people’s political awareness through the emphasis on the importance of their participation in political work, in order to contribute to building their community, as well as forming an important and diverse political culture.
