Public sector-private sector : choice of sector of activity and motivations among workers in Algeria

Abstract

This research aims de make a brief incursion through the world of work in Algeria in order to do a little inventory of the situation of work and workers across the two sectors of activity, the public and the private. In order to do this, we carried out a survey based on a sample of 181 workers divided between several compagnies in the two sectors of activity. And at the end of this survey, we found that algerian workers today do not have enough choice in terms of work and that the public sector is still the most coveted sector of work compared to the private sector. In addition, the motivations of workers in the choice of sector of activity and work depend on one category of worker to another due to the evolution of the socio-economic situation in Algeria.
