dc.description.abstractABSTRACT: In this work, we studied the extraction of Nickel(II) in sulfate medium by dodecanoic acid, using chloroform as solvent. Two different parameters were studied (pH of the aqueous phase and the concentration of the extractant) to evaluate the efficiency of nickel extraction and to determine the stoichiometry of the complexes extracted in the organic phase. The results obtained show that the extraction efficiency of extraction increases with increasing the pH of the aqueous phase and the concentration of dodecanoic acid. Infrared and UV-Visible analysis show that nickel forms an organometallic complex in the organic phase, the geometry of the extracted complex is octahedral.-
