dc.description.abstractThis study aims to discover the strategy of increasing the motivation for learning mathematics among middle school pupils, represented by the Soroban method. The field study was conducted on a sample of pupils from the four years of middle school, formed of 102 pupils in two groups ,The first for middle school pupils Mohamed ben Said in oran town, the second is for middle school pupils who study with soroban method at the second, third and fourth level in the centers who teach soroban in oran We applied to the sample a scale of motivation to learn mathematics to determine the level of the motivation to learn mathematics for the two groups ,and an achievement evaluation in mathematics to determine the impact of the motivation to learn mathematics On academic achievement for the two groups, using statistical methods, the correlation coefficient of Bravais Pearson To determine the relationship between motivation and achievement for the two groups, and the (T) test to measure the differences of the level of motivation for learning mathematics between the two groups, so we reached the following results: -There is a correlation between the motivation of learning mathematics and academic achievement in mathematics among middle school pupils for the two groups. - There is a difference between the level of motivation for learning mathematics between the two groups in favor of the second group, which includes the middle school pupils who study mathematics with Soroban method.en_US
