The right to work is considered one of the first rights recognized by international laws. Work as a right that every human must enjoy, and it is no less important than the right to education, the right to food and other basic human rights. Algeria like other countries, strives to guarantee this right for all individuals. This study comes in order to research the demographic determinants of the employment market in Algeria during the period 2000-2019, relying on the various data of the National Bureau of Statistics, as well as focusing on the most important demographic determinants that affect them (gender, age, place of residence, educational level, certificate obtained) The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which are: Employment and unemployment rates are unstable for many factors. Unemployment affects all groups, but there are clear differences according to gender, age and educational level. It is also noted that the rates of unemployment and employment do not reflect reality. The difference between the number of members of the active class and the population at the age of activity is very clear, but despite this it can be said that there are increasing numbers of workers, especially for the female category with the level of education This reflects the high incomes of women in the field of employment, especially in the public sector, which attracts most of the working women.en_US
