تمحور موضوع البحث حول الإرهاصات الأولى للسانيات التطبيقية في مؤلفات القدامى و الوقوف عند بعض النماذج محاولين التعرف على اللسانيات التطبيقية بشقيها الغربي و العربي مع الحكم هل هي غربية ذات أفكار عربية أم أصيلة للعرب ذات علم غربي، و هذا ما يتم التطرق له في هذا البحث في تحديد مسارها الأول و منبعها الأساس و آراء العلماء فيها و جهودهم للوصول إلى قرار نهائي حول حداثتها كمصطلح و إنها قديمة كأفكار.
