The present study aims to diagnose the camel milk sector in the EL-Oued region through the following three segments: label production, processing-marketing and consumption. The study covered 15 farmers distributed across 4 representative areas; Taleb El-Arbi, Mih Ouansa, Reguiba and Robbah. Field investigations revealed the absence of proven succession. In addition, 67% of breeders have a camel population of more than 20, the age of which in 73% of cases is young. 67% of camels produce less than 3 liters / day collected in a single milking operation. Breeders only intervene during mating and far-rowing periods by distributing concentrated feeds. The age at the start of reproduction is on average 4 years for the camel and 6 to 7 years for the male. The interval between far-rowing is on average two years; the animals are conducted extensively, semi-extensively or in permanent stabling. The industrial transformation of camel milk is nonexistent whereas its commercialization embodies the short circuit, and yielded to 400DA / L Preferred and consumed raw for it’s the rapeutic virtues, the camel milk does not undergo any health control despite the wali's decree prohibiting its sale. Moreover, the weakest links are in the collection, control and distribution of camel milk, whose combination weakens the camel milksector in the region of EL-Oued despite its human potential (camel community), animal (potential camel ) and infrastructure (dairy industry). The camel drivers must organize themselves in association, the establishment of GPL (group of producers of camel milk in addition to the support of the State are all essential actions to promote the development of the camel milk sector in.
