Abstract: | Modern and contemporary critical studies have witnessed significant shifts in curricula and approaches, especially with many embracing interdisciplinary studies that allow for addressing questions traditional methodologies couldn't answer. Thus emerged cultural criticism, postcolonial studies, and Ecocriticism. The latter seeks to uncover representations of the environment within literary texts, aiming to focus on the presence of the environment in a given text. This is what we will attempt to examine through some Qatari short stories, particularly "Ana Al-Yasmeena Al-Baydaa" (I Am the White Jasmine) by Qatari writer Dalal Khalifa |
