ESTIMATION DE TONNAGE DE L'OS CAMELIN DANS LE SAHARA SEPTENTRIONAL : CAS DE LA REGION DE OUARGLA, TOUGGOURT ET EL-OUED

Abstract

Les produits camelins, riches en valeur nutritionnelle et médicinale, sont de plus en plus reconnus. Avec près de 460 000 de dromadaires en Algérie selon les statistiques de la FAO en 2022, ces animaux peuvent jouer un rôle important dans l'économie, notamment dans les régions arides et semi-arides. Outre le lait et la viande, les dromadaires offrent d’autres produits, notamment les os qui sont convertis sous forme de farine, d'hydroxyapatite, d'engrais ou de gélatine, ouvrant des perspectives pour une industrie prometteuse. Le poids vif et le poids de la carcasse sont déterminés avec précision à l'abattoir, cependant, le poids des os reste à estimer. Dans ce sens, cette étude a été réalisée dans les régions d'Ouargla, El-Oued et Touggourt en Algérie, portant sur l'abattage de 36 dromadaires de races targui et sahraoui, il s’est révélé une corrélation linéaire entre le poids des os et le poids de la carcasse. Bien que cette corrélation ne prenne pas en compte tous les os, elle fournit une équation reliant le poids des os à 15 kg plus le cinquième du poids de la carcasse,

Camel products, which are rich in nutritional and medicinal value, are gaining increasing recognition. With nearly 460 000 dromedaries in Algeria according to FAO statistics in 2022, these animals can play an important role in the economy, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions. In addition to milk and meat, dromedaries offer other products, notably bones, which are converted into bone meal, hydroxyapatite, fertiliser or gelatine, opening up prospects for a promising industry. Live weight and carcass weight are accurately determined at the slaughterhouse, but bone weight has yet to be estimated.
