dc.description.abstractThis study aims to prepare an eco-friendly and low-cost activated carbon from date pits and to test its effectiveness in adsorbing Methyl Orange dye and in treating wastewater from the Boukaoui basin. As an initial step, the activated carbon was prepared and then activated using hydrochloric acid (HCl). Subsequently, a series of analyses and measurements were conducted before and after treatment. The results obtained after treatment showed high efficiency in dye removal, reaching 95%. The removal rates of MES, COD, gHC, and turbidity from the Boukaoui basin wastewater were estimated at approximately 62.04%, 67%, 94.9%, and 73.80%, respectively, under optimal conditions. These findings highlight the potential of this type of activated carbon as an effective and low-cost alternative for pollutant reductionen_US
