Governance of renewable energies in Algeria to maintain sustainable development

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the extent to which Algeria applies the principles of governance in renewable energies in order to maintain sustainable development. the study was divided into four axes, the first axis showed the basic concepts of governance (principles, pillars and objectives of governance). the second axis was devoted to renewable energies (concept and types of renewable energies). the third axis dealt the concept, dimension and the goals of sustainable development, the fourth axis deals with projecting and linking the variables with each other in order to answer the study by presenting Algeria’s potential of renewable energies as well as the adopted Strategy of Algeria to apply the principles of governance in the sector of renewable energy in order to maintain sustainable development. However, the results of the study were the opposite of our expectations, as it became clear to us that Algeria does not apply the principles and foundations of governance in its management of the renewable energies sector.
