The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of teaching the shadows unit, a part of the fifth-grade science curriculum, using the SWOM model in comparison to the traditional teaching method. The research employed a quasi-experimental approach, with a sample comprising 60 female students who were equally divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The achievement test was utilized as the primary assessment tool for this study. The results revealed statistically significant differences at the 0.05 significance level in the post-application of the achievement test between the experimental and control groups, with the experimental group outperforming the control group due to the instructional method employeden_US
