dc.description.abstractThis study aims to explore the role of digitalization in improving the job performance of employees in local administrations in the Wilaya of Touggourt, inlightofthegrowingtrendtowardmodernizingAlgeria’spublicadministration through the adoption of advanced digital tools and technologies. The study employed the descriptive method, which is suitable for analyzing professional realities and interpreting the impact of digital transformation on public sector employees. Data were collected using an electronic questionnaire, with 30 responses obtained from employees across various local administrative departments. This enabled a field-based understanding of how digitalization is experienced in the work environment. The study was theoretically grounded in the Uses and GratificationsTheory,whichexplainshowindividualsbenefitfromdigitalmedia andtools,andtheFunctionalStructuralTheory,whichhighlightstheintegration of roles and technology within institutional systems. Thestudyconcludedthatdigitalizationplaysapivotalroleinenhancingjob performance among local public employees, by streamlining administrative procedures, facilitating access to information, and improving coordination between departments—despite some challenges related to technological infrastructure and staff training. The study recommends adopting a comprehensive digital strategy within local administrations, focusing on developing technological infrastructure, providing continuous professional training, and promoting a culture of digital work. This approach aims to enhance job performance and improve the quality ofpublicservices in linewith ongoing digitaltransformations,byfullyutilizing both human and technical resources.en_US
