This study aims to examine the syllable as a central phonological unit mediating between the individual sound and the word, and playing a crucial role in organizing the rhythmic structure of speech, regulating the sound system of language, and achieving phonetic and semantic harmony in discourse. The research questions modern linguistic conceptions of the syllable in the light of the Arabic phonetic heritage, seeking to build a cognitive bridge between contemporary phonology (as developed by Trubetzkoy, Jakobson, Martinet, and Ladefoged) and the foundational contributions of Al-Khalil, Sibawayh, and Ibn Jinni. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach combining theoretical grounding and practical application to Arabic syllabic patterns, demonstrating that this seemingly hidden and non-written unit is in fact one of the deep pillars upon which the music of language and its internal organization are builten_US
