كتاب "تحقيق ما للهند من مقولة مقبولة في العقل أو مرذولة" لأبي الريحان البيروني – مقاربة سوسيو ثقافية

Abstract

تندرج هذه الدراسة في إطار القراءات السوسيولوجية والتاريخية لأدب الرحلات، وتحديداً كتاب البيروني "تحقيق ما للهند". وتمحورت إشكالية البحث حول مدى توفيق البيروني في رصد وتفكيك البنية الاجتماعية والدينية للمجتمع الهندي، وبيان دور هذا الرصد في مد جسور التواصل الحضاري. ويهدف البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على الأبعاد الثقافية والاجتماعية للمجتمع الهندي كما تمثلها البيروني، مع التركيز على فهم العلاقة بين العقل والدين، وكيفية التعامل مع التنوع الفكري. ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف، اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي باستغلال أدوات المقاربة السوسيولوجية والتاريخية لتفكيك مضامين النص. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى جملة من النتائج؛ أبرزها أن المجتمع الهندي يتميز بعمق تاريخي وثقافي مركّب يتجلى في شبكة معقدة من الأعياد، اللغات، والطقوس الدينية. كما أثبتت الدراسة أن استيعاب البيروني لهذه الجوانب قدّم نموذجاً مبكراً للتعددية الثقافية، مما يُسهم في تعزيز القدرة على فهم "الآخر" وفتح آفاق الحوار والتبادل الحضاري بين الشعوب.

Cette étude s'inscrit dans le cadre des lectures sociologiques et historiques de la littérature de voyage, et plus particulièrement de l'ouvrage d'Al-Biruni « Tahqiq ma lil-Hind » (Vérification de ce qui se trouve en Inde). Problématique de recherche s’articule autour de la mesure dans laquelle Al-Biruni a réussi à observer et à déconstruire la structure sociale et religieuse de la société indienne, tout en démontrant le rôle de cette observation dans l'établissement de ponts de communication culturelle. L'étude vise à mettre en lumière les dimensions culturelles et sociales de la société indienne telles qu'elles ont été représentées par Al-Biruni, en se concentrant sur la compréhension de la relation entre la raison et la religion, ainsi que sur la manière de traiter la diversité intellectuelle. Pour atteindre ces objectifs, l'étude a adopté une approche descriptive et analytique, en exploitant les outils des approches sociologique et historique pour analyser les contenus du texte. L’étude a abouti à un ensemble de résultats, dont le plus notable est que la société indienne se caractérise par une profondeur historique et culturelle complexe qui se manifeste à travers un réseau sophistiqué de fêtes, de langues et de rituels religieux. De plus, l'étude a prouvé que la compréhension de ces aspects par Al-Biruni a fourni un modèle précoce de pluralisme culturel, contribuant ainsi à renforcer la capacité de comprendre « l'Autre » et à ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives de dialogue et d'échange interculturels.

This study is situated within the context of sociological and historical readings of travel literature, focusing specifically on Al-Biruni’s work *Tahqiq ma lil-Hind* (Verification of What Is in India). The research question centers on the extent to which Al-Biruni succeeded in observing and deconstructing the social and religious structure of Indian society, while demonstrating the role of such observation in building bridges of cultural communication. The study aims to shed light on the cultural and social dimensions of Indian society as portrayed by Al-Biruni, focusing on the relationship between reason and religion and the approach to intellectual diversity. To achieve these objectives, the study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing sociological and historical analytical tools to examine the text's content. The study yielded several findings, most notably that Indian society is characterized by complex historical and cultural depth, manifested through a sophisticated network of festivals, languages, and religious rituals. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that Al-Biruni’s understanding of these aspects provided an early model of cultural pluralism, thereby helping to enhance the capacity to understand "the Other" and opening new avenues for intercultural dialogue and exchange.
