The growing global demand for clean drinking water has driven rapid advances in membrane-based purification technologies. Among these, Reverse Osmosis (RO) is considered the most efficient process for water desalination and the removal of dissolved contaminants from various water sources. This work presents the technical design and digital modelling of a compact Reverse Osmosis water purification system using SolidWorks. The study began with a detailed mechanical design of eight primary components, alongside the determination of critical performance parameters: the system was sized for a rated permeate production of 75 GPD (approximately 283 L/day), a recovery ratio of 20%, and a salt rejection rate of ≥ 97%, reducing feed water TDS from 1000 mg/L to ≤ 30 mg/L in the product water. Material selection was guided by strict engineering criteria, including: food-grade ABS plastic for filter housings, AISI 304 stainless steel for the supporting chassis, and glassfilled Nylon PA66 for the membrane pressure vessel. Structural verification of the filter housings under the rated operating pressure of 5 bar was performed using Lamé's thick-wall cylinder equation, yielding a safety factor of SF = 6.86, well above the recommended minimum of 3.0 for pressure-containing plastic components. Several design optimisation iterations were carried out, resulting in a 15% reduction in chassis footprint, standardisation of all tube fittings to NPT 1/4" specification, and a reduction in component count through integration of the solenoid valve function into the high-pressure switch. The final results demonstrate a fully integrated and functional purification system combining dimensional accuracy with structural integrity, providing a robust framework for the development of scalable, modular water treatment solutionsen_US
