This work aims to conduct a phenochemical and chemical study of the leaves of the Frène plant belonging to the Oleaceae family and used in the Sedrata region of Souk Ahras province in northern Algeria, within the framework of the evaluation of medicinal plants of veterinary and pharmaceutical importance. This study aims to highlight the chemical and biological characteristics of this plant species. The active compounds were extracted from the leaves using ethanol, chloroform, and petroleum ether. The extracts were then subjected to a series of qualitative phytochemical tests to identify the major families of natural compounds. The antibacterial activity of the extracts was evaluated on pathogenic bacterial strains, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using the disk diffusion test on agar medium. The results showed that the ethanol extract was the most effective, recording the largest zones of bacterial growth inhibition, while the effectiveness of the aqueous extracts was weak or relatively absent.en_US
