This study aims to investigate the relationships between ants (Formicidae) and honeydew-producingsapfeeding insects in the palm groves of Ouargla and Touggourt. Sampling was conducted over a six-monthperiod, from October 2025 to March 2026, using Barber pitfall traps and yellow traps at four studysites. A total of 1,713 ant individuals belonging to 13 species were recorded. Ouargla showed the highest ant abundance, whereas Touggourt exhibited greater species richness. The analyses also revealed several positive associations between ants and sap-feeding insects, highlighting the ecological importance of theseinteractions in shaping population dynamiques within Saharan agro ecosystems.
