The present study aimed to examine the relationship between electronic game addiction and mind wandering among a sample of adolescents in middle school in the city of Ouargla. It also sought to identify the levels of electronic game addiction and mind wandering within this group، and to determine whether differences in this relationship exist according to gender and age. The study sample consisted of 377 adolescents selected through stratified random sampling. To achieve these objectives، the descriptive correlational method was employed. Data were collected using the Electronic Game Addiction Scale by Niven Hassan Shaker (2023) and the Mind Wandering Scale by Omar Al-Adhamat and Tamara Hasban (2024). After verifying the psychometric properties of both instruments، statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 26. The findings revealed the following: • The level of electronic game addiction among the sample was moderate. • The level of mind wandering was low. • A statistically significant positive correlation was found between electronic game addiction and mind wandering. • No differences in this relationship were observed based on gender or age. In light of theoretical frameworks and previous studies، the research concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals as a scientific contribution to addressing the phenomena of electronic game addiction and mind wandering in the Algerian context.en_US
