The study aimed to identify the habits and patterns of students watching Reels clips, in addition to the most important motives for watching these clips, focusing on the repercussions resulting from their intensive and repeated exposure to them on the psychological and physical health of students and what it can instill in the long term among students of the Department of Media and Communication Sciences, in light of the theory of cultural cultivation and the uses-gratifications theory approach. This study adopted the descriptive analytical approach in addressing this topic, relying on the questionnaire tool to collect data and information related to the study. This study falls under the category of quantitative and qualitative studies. The questionnaire was applied to a random sample consisting of (72) individuals from the Department of Media and Communication Sciences at Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla, whose ages range from 20 to 30 and above. The questionnaire was distributed manually to the sample members. Finally, after statistical analysis, the study revealed that Reels videos have become an essential part of university students' daily digital practices. The results also showed an increase in viewership and usage rates, especially via smartphones, and revealed that the short video length and diverse content are the most prominent factors attracting users to Reels videos. While the results showed that intensive exposure to Reels clips leads to moderate psychological and physical repercussions, mainly represented by staying up late, lethargy, lack of physical activity, and neck and back pain, these are effects related to the nature of prolonged smartphone use.She emphasized that repeated exposure to Reels videos contributes to instilling new values and behaviors in students, most notably the pursuit of digital fame and an obsession with follower count, reflecting the spread of a digital presence culture within the university community
