The aim to study the food of two species of owls and to have a general idea on the fauna of the locality. The study of the diet of B.ascalaphus in the locality of Djanet has stand out six prey categories.Insecta occupies the firs row with a rate of 55,1 % followed by Rodontia (AR = 26,2 %) and Arachnida ( AR = 10,2 %). Brachytrupes megacephalus (AR = 23,1 %), Gerbillus gerbillus (AR = 12,4 %), Pemilia sp. (AR = 8,4 %) and Gerbillus tarabuli (AR = 5,8 %) were themost important prey consumed. Whereas the analysis of Athene noctua pellets enabled us to count seven catSuegories in the food of this owl. Insecta were the most represented (AR = 70,1 %) followed by the Rodontia (AR = 17,1 %). Mesostena angustata (AR = 18,4 %) andBrachytrupes megacephalus (AR = 17,4 %) were the most selected species prey. From this study we notice that the Eagle Owl ( E = 0,8) and the Little Owl (E = 0,7) were considered as a general predates.
