Abstract

This study tries to discover the relationship between lexicography and linguistics though the linguistics theories which become ones of the most notable bases of the modern linguistic studies.

Since grammar (syntax) and semantics are deemed to be ones of the pillars all which the Arabic lexicography stands on in both old and modern era this article tries to spot light on the obstacles that interrupt the course of lexicography in each of its stages.
