Abstract: Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis, causal agent of Fusarium wilt of date palm, synthesizes toxic compounds in culture liquid medium Czapeck-Dox. These compounds cause inhibition of germination, necrosis and accumulation of tannins in the host tissues. Analysis of extracts by TLC has detected several compounds with fusaric acid. The injection of the latter at the collar of seedlings cultivar Deglet Nour causes, three weeks later, wilting of leaves followed by death of the seedling, and a stimulation of the synthesis of anthocyanins in the limb and roots. The results lead us to hypothesize the following: the accumulation of flavonoids, substances involved in resistance in the leaves and roots did not stop the damage caused by this toxin and other toxins probably involved, or in synergy with the ac. Fusaric or other compounds, either alone.
