Abstract: This study came to show existing endured the rangelands of steppe in Algeria. Diagnosis illuminates a situation of great concern and is seen now in the grip of specter degradation. Indeed, plowing rangelands and range are systematically cleared, thus promoting the expansion of desertification. The operating system, based on hoarding (storage of sheep on foot) causes an overload, or overgrazing, degradation corollary. Faced with this alarming situation and to the fragility of the steppe ecosystem, it which concerns us more than ever through an S.O.S. A new vision is needed and must rely on a disciplined approach to planning and management of this space and projecting a sustainability perspective. To do this, scenarios can be highlighted and punctuated by a pattern of hydro-pastoral practice embodying very fertile strategies and actions feasible.
