The palm plantations of the Ksar of Ouargla; between degradation and rehabilitation Oasis dwellers have managed to create a harmonious complicity with their ecosystem palm groves, even if their financial and material resources were derisory. Historically, their main concern was the fragility of their ecosystems, thus the need to install procedures in order to enhance production, preserve life and insure the survival of future generations. Surveys on the ground, supported by data from different agricultural bodies, have revealed constraints that seriously threaten palm plantation ecosystems and eventually the Ksar of Ouargla. These are essentially the fragmentation and compartmentalization, aging of the workforce and palm groves, inadequate crop management, expensive inputs and lack of financial resources, sewage disposal, supply products (seeds, fertilizers and Plant), and insufficiency of water supply to the plots. For the rehabilitation of the palm groves of the ksar of Ouargla, diagnosis revealed a patchwork of constraints that are interdependent. These constraints are the cause of the serious ecological disruption occurring, which is likely to become irreversible. The solution obvious and easiest solution to these issues is the introduction of new of new palm plantations, the fact remains that palm growing is an important heritage in the region that is threatened with extinction in a town that could "choke" if these ecosystems were not rehabilitated. This rehabilitation of the palms, in view of the interlocking constraints, would be through joint integrated efforts on all fronts.en_US
