Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the cognitive economy skills included the chemistry book of 2nd secondary class from the teacher's perspective and Teachers Possesing Degree of them

For achieving this, the researcher developed two instruments: - the first was questionnaire included the cognitive economy skills, Vallidity was checked and the reliability computed (0.83) , where the text books were analyzed in accordance to them. The second was questionnaire included the cognitive economy skills which the teachers of chemistry possess. Validity was checked and the reliability was computed (0.81) distributed to (25) teachers chemistry for the 2nd secondary class. Means and standard deviation and the teacher's estimation for cognitive economy skills which they possess were computed. The researcher recommended that the text books should included the cognitive economy skills and relevant studies should be conducted for other different stage. The results indicated that skills of cognitive economy included the chemistry book as a whole was high especially the skills of notes, application, data collection and analysis, The skills of low degree were reality to various intelligent, imagination and contemplation, and meta- cognitive.

Regarding the cognitive economy skills that the teachers possess was mid in general. The skills were arranged respectively notes skills, remembering , summarization, material arrangement, then the skills relating to computer and technology use in teaching, going to electronic sites, finally critical thinking skills, forming hypotheses, and problem solving.
