MISE AU POINT D’UN LOGICIEL COMPILANT UNE BASE DE DONNEES DES PLANTES MEDICINALES ALGERIENNES ET LES ETUDES DE RECHERCHES REALISEES SUR CES PLANTES

Abstract

The software “PLANTE” highlighted in this work, contains a broad range of plants recognized in the traditional medicine in various areas of Algeria, it is conceived to contain the studies of scientific research issued on these plants at the Universities and University centers through the national territory. The purpose of this software is to facilitate scientific research for the students preparing a Magister, Doctoral title or other research. The plants can be observed in the form of list or of data sheets, containing all the useful mentions identifying the plant, such as: scientific name, common noun, Arabic name, the plant family, characteristics, composition, medicinal parts as well as the photo and a short summary about the medicinal use of the plant. In the same way the studies were grouped by: institution, researcher, entitled of research, studied plant, topic of research, year and validation date of the study and in end a summary including the objective and the aims of the study realized and the results obtained. The computer programming language used is Delphi, which is a very powerful tool for programming databases under Windows; the software can be easily installed on PC and be used. Its graphical interface is very simple, so, the user can research, supervise, classify and print a list or a technical card of a chosen plant or study; it offers even the advantage to modifying or to enriching its database by other plants or new studies. The software “PLANTE” represents a true national data bank of; medicinal plants, making it possible to direct the students and researchers, especially those in the field of phytochemistry and phytotechny, to documenting and to recognize the richness of their country as regards medicinal plants and in end to choose the topics of their research for the plants which were not studied.
