Abstract: The soils salinity in the Ouargla basin is linked to the irrigation water salinity and to high level of water table. This situation has the consequence on the yields decrease of date palm. The most of date plantation sampled present a high level of water table and excessive salinity. The soils are irrigated by submersion with strong salt water. The soils surface salinity increase with water table levels. It is at the deep water table high less than the soil salinity at shallow water table. The date palm yield increase generally with water table depth. Moreover, the yields decrease is linked significantly at the salinity increase of soil, water table and water irrigation in the soil of shallow water table, and only at the water irrigation salinity in the soil of deep water table.
