Abstract: The study of the diet of a Barn Owl (Tyto alba) in the region of Souf (33 at 34 ° N. and 6 ° at 8 ° E.), by analysis of 60 rejections pellets, allowed to count 150 individuals of rodents preys represented by 13 belonging species, to two families (Muridae and Dipodidae). Muridae is represented by it under family of Murinae (14.7 %) with 4 species and those of the Gerbillinae (82 %) with 8 species. The species the most consummate by the Barn-owl, lives Gerbillus gerbillus (FC = 44 %) and Gerbillus campestris (FC = 13.3 %). The value of diversity of Shannon-Weaver (H’) applied to the species - preys, is equal to 3.15 bits against a value of 2.58 bits only for the rodents. The category of rodents seems much diversified with regard to the other animal categories which are counted in the balls of the Barn-owl. For the value of maximal diversity (H max) is equal to 4.52 bits for all the species of preys, and 3.70 bits for the rodents.
