Psychological & Educational Studies Reviewen_US
This study is framed within cognitive psychology which focuses on mental learning processes; we are going to detect some of the obstacles that impede the learning process, given that our educational system shows some shortcomings both theoretically and methodologically. To achieve this aim, we rely on a fieldwork study who deals with the ways children learn some scientific concepts, particularly, astronomic concepts, bearing in mind the significance of artifacts in the process of educational system improvement. The study concludes with some propositions regarding areas that should be reconsidered (curricula, attitudes towards the learner, focus on learning strategies), for a better learning outcome, relying on results of recent cognitive psychological studiesen_US
