dc.description.abstractThis article traces impacts of the transformation towards societal security on public policy making patterns. Later sections focus on the way securitization discourse transfer politicized issued from normal politics realm to emergency realm. Then, it deals with subsequent effects on policy making, emphasis done on suspension of democratic rule procedures with regards to the securitized issues. The article concludes to the importance of pointing out pitfalls of securitization process as it does not sustain security in a long-term perspective. To bring about change, civil society components are urged to network de-securitization efforts and returning them back to normal politics.en_US
