محاولة في تأصيل مفهوم الإصلاح السياسي

Abstract

In the last decade, the field of political science has seen a noticeable increase in interest in the issues of democracy and political reform, along with increased need to adjust the concepts and terminology associated with the subject of political transitions taking place in regimes in the Arab region. It is clear that an important aspect of difference and contrast in views on these issues is fundamentally due to the confusion that resulted from lack of knowledge precision for many basic concepts which are usually employed in tandem.

The goal of this study is to contribute to the academic effort to identify and consolidate key concepts in political science and social sciences in general, through the study of the various dimensions of the concept of political reform, starting with the search in linguistic meanings, and then address the semantic knowledge of the term, leading to distinguish it from other of similar concepts, such as democratization, modernization, and development.
