Abstract: We used the contingent valuation method to respond the phenomenon Nimbay registered in the Algerian cities in the choice of the location of urban waste disposal sites. The refusal of the people to landfill sites of wastes often justified by the proximity to homes and the negative externalities generated by these landfills. Estimating an average acceptable distance via interval data regression model gives an average distance of4.09km,a distance upper than the minimum distance required by regulations set at 200m. Several factors influence the decision of the people to determine the preferred minimum distance, income, actual waste service satisfaction, and the actual distance to the landfill
