Abstract: The trade of man kindwas for centuries one of the most flowrishing activities in the Mediterranean sea, especially during the war of maritime piracy. Slavery, bad and difficult life, also the soul submitted to the shackles, a double pain, it’s the torment of Maghrebans in captivity in Italy in the period named Ottoman. To understand the atrocity of the tragedy concerning our captives, the depth of their wounds, the complexity of their problems linked to the forced conversion, and to the long and overwhelming slavery, we must consult the documents conserved at archives, particularly the Italian’s archives. The theme entitled above is a participation to write the history of Maghrebans captives, because the topic is still new and its field needs too muchclearness.
