dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to explore reveal the level of emotional intelligence, depending on certain variables (gender, specialty, level, participation in extra-curriculum activities).among yarmoukuniversity students,. The sample of the study consisted of (536) male and female students who were randomly selected. To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher applied the emotional intelligence scale, developed by Alawan (2011). The results of the study indicated that the level of emotional intelligence among the students was high, In addition, the results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the dimension of emotional intelligence in both fields of emotional cognition and empathy, due to sex, and the results were in favor of females. Concerning the rest of the fields, no differences were found as there were no statistically significant differences in the other fields. There were no statistically significant differences in emotional intelligence due to the variables of specialty and educational level. In addition, the results revealed the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of emotional intelligence due to the variable of extra-curriculum activities in all the fields of emotional intelligence, except for the social communication field,in which the differences were in favour of those participatingen_US
