The response surface method is one of the most widely used methods in several areas of the
industry, the objective of this method is to minimize or maximize the factors emerge by optimizing the
input factors. The use of this method helps to improve the quality of products and processes while
reducing the time and cost of product realization. Our goal is to use this method to reduce the number
of experiments and to study the interaction between cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed rate and
feed depth) and to predict responses (temperature For the two coated and uncoated inserts during the
machinability of the AISI D3 steel, by turning.
The results showed good agreement between the experimental results and the predicted values
obtained by the model, the percentage error of the numerical models and the accuracy were 7.1% and
92.9% for the two platelets.
