Difficulties of rendering Administrative rendering correspondences Case study: First year master of translation at Ouargla University

Abstract

Compared to other languages for specific purposes (LSPs) , the terminology of the administrative field poses a number of specific challenges to translation. Firstly, most administrative terms refer to abstract concepts and are not defined through referential properties, but rather intentionally, using other abstract concepts. Secondly, administrative terminology shows a considerable overlap with language for general purposes (LGPs). In this research we look at case study the translation of administrative terms in foreign companies from English into Arabic. First we select a sample of administrative correspondence and investigate the procedures and strategies used in translating administrative correspondence through a corpus-based analysis.

Par rapport à d'autres langues à des fins spécifiques (LSP), la terminologie administrative du domaine pose un certain nombre de défis de traduction spécifiques. La plupart des termes administratifs font référence à d'autres concepts abstraits. Les termes administratifs présentent également un chevauchement important avec le langage à usage général (LGP). Cette recherche vise à faire la lumière sur les problèmes et difficultés rencontrés par le traducteur lors de la traduction de la correspondance administrative, ainsi qu'à identifier les méthodes et stratégies de traduction utilisées dans la traduction de la correspondance administrative. Cette recherche propose un échantillon pour traduire une correspondance administrative représentée par une lettre de recommandation de l'anglais vers l'arabe. بالمقارنة مع لغة أخرى لغرض محدد (LSPs) فإن مصطلحات المجال الإداري تطرح عدد من التحديات المحددة للترجمة. تشير معظم المصطلحات الإدارية إلى مفاهيم مجردة أخرى تظهر أيضا المصطلحات الإدارية تداخلا كبيراً مع اللغة لأغراض عامة(LGPs) يهدف هذا البحث لتسليط الضوء على المشاكل والصعوبات التي تواجه المترجم أثناء ترجمة المراسلات الإدارية، وكذلك التعرف على أساليب وإستراتيجيات الترجمة المتبعة في ترجمة المراسلات الإدارية. يقترح هذا البحث عينة لترجمة مراسلة إدارية متمثلة في رسالة تزكية من الإنجليزية إلى العربية.
