Conventional antibiotics are beginning to become ineffective and bacteria that at one time were controlled, are beginning to become more and more pathogenic. The combination with the limited number of antibiotics under development has led us to a therapeutic impasse. The discovery of innovative antibacterial molecules, capable of acting by new modes of action. In this study, we looked for essential oils molecules that can inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. For this, we have screened 5 essential oils by the method of well and disc, on 9 multi-resistant strains. Their effects on bacterial growth were determined by measuring the inhibitory zone. The most invasive oil is that of Nigella sativa which has an effect on S. aureus through an inhibition zone of 3.8 cm, a medium effect on L. monocytogenes and a minimum effect on Gram-: E. coli, P. aeruginosa and K. pneumonia. |
