In this paper we look at the Oswald averaging technique for constructing functions globally C1 and piecewise polynomial class from functions that only continuous and use of operator interpolation resulting in context of the finite element method. One considers the case of a smooth bounded domain Ω ⊂ R2 of class C1,1.
