Abstract: In the course of last years, the security of the persons, places and of property established itself as a major stake to the planetary ladder. Among the solutions proposed, video surveillance is one of the most common security technologies. Sometimes hundreds of cameras, these new systems generate a colossal quantity of video information, so consider an intelligent system also called video analytics, can process, in software, video captured to retain only data relevant to security and detect suspicious situations in real time, in order to intervene immediately. In view of the diversity of the methods of the detection of movements, we chose that of background subtraction. Background subtraction is a faster and simpler method, it allows us to track moving objects and detect suspicious objects, and it is applied in real environments. The principle of this method is to analyze the sequences of images and to associate the location of targets in successive frames
