For the aim of valorization of local from lignocelluloses natural residue different acti- vated carbon with a high surface areas were prepared by chemical activation using phos- phoric acid H3P O4 from the date stones of two local varieties (Ghars and Mech Degla) of the regions of Biskra and El Oued in the south of Algeria and characterized by different techniques, the textural properties determined by N2 adsorption at 77k and scanning elec- tronic microscopy SEM ; the surface area and micropore volume are optimal 1118.097 m2 .g−1 and 0.502 cm3. g−1 from the variety Ghars of Biskra. The surface function was found by the Boehm method and the elemental analysis of activated carbons was carried out. The adsorption of the organic pollutant (COD) of wastewater from the common Sidi Khouiled (Ouargla) by the activated carbons CGB1, CGE1, CMB1 has been studied. Un- der the process conditions there is a maximum absorption capacity of this pollutant 62.5 mg/g for CGB1. The experimental data were well described by the isothermal equili- brium equation Langmuir type II and the calculated adsorption capacity was 71.43 mg/g comparable by models Freundlich and Temkin. The kinetics of COD adsorption kinetics obeys the intra cellular model. |
